Mutidisciplinary Levels 1 and 2 Panel, Meeting Report and Recommendations

The Mutidisciplinary Levels 1 and 2 grant panel meeting was held via teleconference on August 31, 2015. Thirty-three (33) eligible applications were reviewed and thirty-two (32) applications were recommended for funding.

A complete list of all reviewed applications, with the request amounts and final scores, is provided in the following sections.

Panel comment was as follows:

A panel member suggested that applicants be required to give detailed information on their plans for any budget surplus, and that they show how they will evaluate their programs in addition to what they will do with the information.

Zac Alfson

Orange County

  • Patron Engagement Manager, Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, Orlando, Florida
  • Previously Marketing and Grants Manger, Mad Cow Theatre in Orlando and held Internship at United Arts of Central Florida in grant administration and government affairs
  • He was part of the design/build/opening team for Mad Cow’s new 2 theatre complex in downtown Orlando
  • Received Emerging Leader award from American for the Arts and the National Arts Marketing Project and invited to write a feature article for their February 2012 e-newsletter

Jerry Bickel

Hillsborough County

  • Founder and Executive Director, Bits N Pieces Puppet Theatre, Tampa
  • Co-director and jurist for the 2011 International Puppet Carnival in Almaty, Kazakhstan
  • Received Florida Theatre Conference's 1998 Distinguished Career In Children's/Youth Theatre Award
  • North American Councilor to the International Festival of Puppet Arts, Prague, CZ as well as past president of the 2008 Performance Jury, and also the 2009 and 2010 festival's promotions director and web master
  • Produced a new marionette production of "Petrushka" in May 2011, commissioned by the Guatemala Arts Council

Christine Nottage

  • Christine has an undergraduate in art history, a master's in nonprofit management and is currently working on a marine environmental technology degree
  • Currently she is a development consultant working with arts and cultural organizations in the Keys and she is adjunct faculty at the Florida Keys Community College
